Welcome! This page is your guide to doing the daily work to embrace anti-racism, and provides some fantastic tools for personal learning and growth.
As the events since George Floyd’s murder have unfolded, Coast Guard Spectrum stands firmly with all those looking for real justice and the abolishing of racism and unfair treatment.
During this time, we stand in solidarity and support of all of our black transgender, non-binary and cisgender siblings, and will never tolerate hatred, racism or any form of discrimination. We also recognize that we are still in the midst of a pandemic that has killed more then 100,000 people in this country. Find the ways to support this movement that are safe for you and your loved ones. Do what you can. This time is full of deep pain, but we will heal together.
As Pride month begins, we celebrate our identities. However, we must not forget the Stonewall Riots, a serious of violent protests against the injustices of the violent police raid of June 29th 1969, and the unfair treatment of queer people.
As you reflect on the history of the ardent struggle for queer rights that we celebrate during this month, do everything in your power to actively support those who are fighting for their rights now.
“If you are neutral in situations of injustice, you have chosen the side of the oppressor.”
